MY First Father's Day

MY first Father’s Day 21 June 2015

When I woke up on 21 June 2015, it was a new experience for me. My son was born a few months prior and I just had a great feeling waking up seeing my son laying there next to my wife with his happy face plastered on.  Everything I was feeling was almost too much for me, It was Father’s Day and I was going to enjoy it at much as I could.

I know my wife has been busy and staying up late for long nights on end so that I can get rest for work and I love her so much for that. I didn’t wake up to normal means as in breakfast in bed or even a nice spread downstairs waiting on me, I didn’t care about any of that, what I wanted to hear was “Happy Father’s Day babe, I love you” and that’s exactly what I got along with a wonderful picture frame with me and my son.

What made my day special was not only am I able to call myself a father for the first time but it was exactly 3 months that day my son was born.

baby time!

The moment your wife's water breaks, it breaks!

It was 20 March 2015 around 2100 (9:00) and I'm outside smoking I come inside and my wife is creeping towards the stairs like she's the pink panther, I ask whats going on?  and I see a trail of something following her and going down the side of her leg.  I'm what the heck  is going on? I start freaking out checking her over and she says her water broke.

So we head on over to the hospital all the while we are smiling and laughing calling all our family members back in the states, we can't look at each other straight either because we would laugh.  we get to the hospital and they put us in a room stating they are going to check up on her to see if her water broke or not, I give her this WTH look....do you not see whats going on?!?! we get checked out and she brings her hands back up and says yup your water broke.

we get admitted into the hospital and we start waiting for everything to go down...and we keep waiting and I'm not the most patient person in the waiting game so I'm out walking around trying to pass time, when finally the next day she's 10 cm dilated and It's go time.  The nurses are telling her to breath in and out and I'm observing everything that's going on, I notice that when the nurses were  prepping her that she had only one sock on! I ask her what did you do to your other sock? lol.  I never did find out what happened to that sock.

She's such a trooper she pushed him out with 12 pushes and out came my little one.  2028 (8:28) ,

Finding out my wife is pregnant

Last year my wife simply Tuiesa and I had a conversation about when we wanted to have kids and we decided that then and there we would start.  when I agreed to it I didn't understand the finer points of a woman's menstrual cycle and how hardcore they become when they are in that time frame.  There would be times when i wanted to sleep so bad and I would turn around and she would say its time, I would literally sweat drop by how fierce she was about having a baby.  I mean I was enthusiastic about it too but sometimes you have to think about sleep and how wonderful it can be.

A couple weeks later still nothing new and we start to get discouraged, everybody is giving us advice and we try take it in with a smile and head nod but I would never forget the one sound advice that i took to heart.  My uncle told us to let it be and it will come don't try to get pregnant and stress about it because it never happens that way.

Flash forward - So we slow down and put it to the side for a bit.  Two weeks later and were laying in bed (its late by the way) and my wife turns over and gives me that look, so I give her a different look remembering our conversation with my uncle and said "I don't want to do it tonight I'm stressed out right now and I don't want to stress out" and promptly turned over and fell asleep. That night was one of the best times I've ever slept.

We let nature take its toll and a month later we move on from actively trying to get pregnant when my wife is freaking out and feeling sick, in the back of my head I'm thinking she's pregnant but naw that cant be right its not that fast.  she wants to go the Emergency room and I'm freaking wondering whats going on and if she was OK.  she walks out into the waiting room gives me a sheepish look saying that it was only diarrhea, my face probably wasn't the most loving one at that moment and she quickly whispers to me "I'm pregnant."  wait what!  "I'm pregnant" she says again i was so happy at that moment and I held her stomach and couldn't help but laugh and tear up knowing that there was someone growing in there.

Whenever your feeling down and don't know if what your doing is right. don't stress out (really it worked for me) and hopefully for you and don't let your wife break the news to you that way.  let me know your stories if you have any funny ones.
